Although I do not identify as papist, I graduated from a Catholic high school two years ago and my mother has worked for one on and a off for nearly a decade; the Church has loomed over my life for as long as I can remember. I always thought I understood how patriarchal the system is, but Good Catholic Girls made me realize that the discrimination in the world's most powerful church is so beyond overt.
